The World of Hackers
I am a hacker
The term 'hacker' originally was a general expression applied to individuals knowledgeable in the field of computer science. Originally, a hacker referred to an expert or enthusiastic computer programmer who possessed in-depth knowledge of systems' operations and their optimization. Such individuals often have a passion for technology and computing and develop their skills in the creative and efficient use of systems.
However, the term 'hacker' is frequently used by the media and in public perception to describe individuals who pursue malicious or unlawful goals, such as data theft, system breaches, or other illegal activities. Such individuals are often referred to as 'crackers' or 'black hat hackers,' while those engaged in ethical and lawful activities are commonly known as 'white hat hackers.'
Additionally, there exists an intermediate category known as 'gray hat hackers,' who operate in a somewhat gray area and may not always adhere to accepted norms or laws.
